Title IX Student Advisory Board

group of students outside

The Title IX Student Advisory Board (SAB) offers undergraduate, graduate, and professional students an opportunity to shape the university’s efforts to prevent and respond to gender-based harassment and violence. Meeting three to four times each semester, the SAB works directly with the Title IX Coordinator to provide feedback on policies and procedures, student resources, campus climate, and outreach efforts such as SAFE at VT.

Through open discussion and collaboration, board members will help identify barriers to reporting, suggest improvements to support services, and recommend strategies for fostering a safer, more respectful campus community. Student input is critical to ensuring that Title IX processes are student-centered, accessible, and responsive to the needs of all Tech students.

Serving on the SAB is a chance to make a meaningful impact, strengthen leadership skills, and ensure student voices are heard in shaping the university’s commitment to a campus community free from harassment and discrimination. All students are encouraged to participate, regardless of background or experience.
