2025 NDEAM | Celebrating Value and Talent

This year’s event was held Wednesday, Oct. 8, from 10:30 –11:30 a.m. EST on Zoom and featured bestselling author, activist, and speaker Emily Ladau. From her start on Sesame Street to speaking at the United Nations, Emily has inspired audiences worldwide. She shared insights on creating a culture of disability inclusion in the workplace as we celebrated the value and talent of workers with disabilities.

National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) is organized by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy. The 2025 theme, “Celebrating Value and Talent,” honors the contributions workers with disabilities bring to America’s workplaces and economy.

ASL interpreters and closed captioning will be available at the event. If you are an individual with a disability and require an accommodation, contact Raksha Sharma at 540-231-2567 or raksha7@vt.edu by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2025.
