About CRCPE
As of March 2025, the Office for Equity and Accessibility is the Office for Civil Rights Compliance and Prevention Education (CRCPE). This new name better aligns with the work that we do and the mission of the university, remaining focused on ensuring that Virginia Tech is a welcoming and safe place for all faculty, staff, and students. The office coordinates and supports civil rights compliance and offers resources to address workplace conflicts. This includes:
- Investigating internal and external complaints of discrimination and harassment and employment related violations of Title IX and the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA).
- Developing and monitoring Virginia Tech’s employment practices.
- Promoting an accessible campus environment.
- Providing consultations for ADA workplace accommodations.
- Developing and monitoring policies and procedures related to equal opportunity.
- Providing education and training on complying with related civil rights policies.
- Providing conflict resolution services for employees.
- Providing education and training on topics related to gender-based violence and resource awareness.
