The Department of Education's Office of Civil Rights is responsible for enforcing civil rights and anti-discrimination laws in educational institutions. The office responsible for Virgnia is the DC Regional Office located at 400 Maryland Avenue, SW, Washington, DC 20202.  Phone: (202) 453-6020.  

The United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is responsible for enforcing civil rights and anti-discrimination laws relating to employment. The EEOC regional office responsible for Virginia is at 129 West Trade Street, Suite 400, Charlotte, NC 28202.  Phone:  (800) 669-4000.  

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is one of the largest and oldest not-for-profit organizations committed to civil rights advocacy.  

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is one of the largest and oldest civil rights organizations in the United States. Their local branch, Mongtomery-Radford-Floyd NAACP Branch 7092, is located at 570 High Street NE, Christiansburg, VA 24073, phone (540) 382-6751.  

Blacksburg Coalition for Justice is a local not-for-profit organization, commited to advocacy on social justice issues. 

The Pride Center at Virginia Tech offers support to LGBTQ+ students, faculty, and staff.  The support center is located at 227 Squires Student Center and can be reached by phone at (540) 231-8584.

Virginia Asian Advisory Board is a government body which serves as a liason between growing Asian and Pacific Islander community and the government of the Commonwealth.  

Asian Pacific Policy and Planning Council is a California-based advocacy group for individuals of Asian/Pacific descent. 

Council on American Islamic Relations is the largest advocacy group in the country which focuses on civil rights issues affecting Muslims.  

Virginia Coalition of Latino Organizations is a broad coalition of advocacy and social services groups serving the Latino and Latin X populations.  

Hillel at Virginia Tech is a social organization for Jewish students. Internationally, Hillel is also involved in building bridges betwen Muslim and Jewish community and anti-hate advocacy.  

The Women's Center at Virginia Tech is a campuswide organization committed to advocacy for equity for women on campus and beyond.  The Women's Center also serves as an important resource for survivors of intimate partner and sexual violence.
